Promega Corporation

We are a leader in providing innovative solutions and technical support to the life sciences industry. Promega Corporation's 2,000 products enable scientists worldwide to advance their research in the life sciences, particularly in genomics, proteomics, and cellular analysis. Our products are also used to support molecular diagnostics and human identification. Founded in 1978, Promega Corporation is headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, with branches in 15 countries and over 50 global distributors.

Our products consist of kits and reagents as well as Integrated Solutions for life sciences research and drug discovery. The term "reagents" refers generally to a broad range of biological, biochemical, and chemical materials. Reagents include specialized chemicals, enzymes, peptides, antibodies and nucleic acids that scientists can use alone or in combination with other materials to perform biological tests (assays) or manipulate components of living cells. The value of reagents to scientists is derived from the purity, ease of use, effectiveness, compatibility with other materials or other instruments, and the unique physical and chemical characteristics of the reagent. The volume of assays can vary from a few per day at small academic laboratories to tens of thousands per day at pharmaceutical and clinical laboratories.

Integrated Solutions provides customers with personal automation tools designed to increase efficiency and improve confidence by combining instrumentation and reagents into a comprehensive system.

Our products are used primarily by customers to understand the molecular basis of life and potential mechanisms of disease, as well as to identify attractive targets for drug development. The principal customers in the life sciences research and drug discovery markets are laboratories generally associated with universities, medical research centers, government institutions, and other research institutions as well as biotechnology, pharmaceutical, energy, agricultural, and chemical companies. Life sciences researchers use our reagents to perform a broad range of experiments in the laboratory. In addition, our tools are used in applied markets such as forensics paternity testing for human identification.

Through the advancements in the company's Helix™ on-site inventory program, Promega launched the Terso Solutions subsidiary. This separate operating unit focuses on leveraging RFID technology to solve customers' needs for complete inventory management solutions.

Located in the 400-acre Fitchburg Center, mixed-use community, Promega Corporation provides its employees with an outstanding work environment designed to foster innovation and creativity.
